2 Day Qigong Retreat
Finding Stillness Within the Rising Yang
A 2-Day Mini Retreat with Alicia Rypma
July 11-12, 2026 | 1:00–4:00 PM Daily
Location: Citrine, Larkspur
Tuition: $450
The light of summer rises high.
Roots deepen quietly below.
Stillness reveals the way.
As summer reaches its fullest expression, nature demonstrates the power of Yang: growth, expansion, warmth, and movement. While this season naturally encourages us outward, Qigong offers another possibility—to meet the rising energy of summer with steadiness, clarity, and internal organization.
This two-day mini retreat is an opportunity to step away from the momentum of daily life and spend dedicated time studying the relationship between structure, energy, and awareness.
Throughout our recent classes, we have explored how the body organizes itself through elastic strength rather than force. We have studied the role of the hands and feet as energetic endpoints, the winding and unwinding of fascia, the support of the bones, and the dynamic relationship between Yin and Yang.
We have practiced opening the back body, awakening the heart center, coordinating breath with movement, and learning how to remain connected during transitions without collapsing or disconnecting from ourselves.
This retreat brings these studies together in a deeper and more integrated way.
Rather than learning more techniques, we will spend time refining what has already been introduced:
Developing elastic strength through the whole body
Understanding the relationship between Yin receptivity and Yang expression
Cultivating clear intention through a settled heart
Exploring the role of hands, feet, and energetic endpoints
Learning how structure supports the free movement of Qi
Working with winding and unwinding patterns through fascia and connective tissue
Refining transitions while maintaining continuity and coherence
Integrating Qigong principles into everyday movement and daily life
Together we will move slowly, observe deeply, and allow the body to reveal greater levels of organization and ease.
This retreat is appropriate for both newer and experienced practitioners. Whether you are attending to deepen your personal practice, support your health, or simply create dedicated time for yourself, the work will meet you where you are.
