Gyrokinesis® Pre-Training is the first step in the Gyrokinesis teacher training pathway, designed to give you a foundational experience of the method and prepare you for the Gyrokinesis Foundation Course. It’s an immersive week, typically 6 days long, and focuses on deepening your personal practice while introducing key movement principles, vocabulary, and sequences.

Purpose and Focus
Deepen your own embodied understanding of the Gyrokinesis Method
Learn the basic class format, movement sequences, and breathing patterns.
Build stamina, coordination, and body awareness.
Prepare physically and mentally for the Foundation Course.
Daily Structure (a typical day might include)
Full Gyrokinesis Class
The standard 60–90-minute class, often starting with spinal motions on the stool, then transitioning to floor work and standing sequences.Movement Breakdown and Practice
You’ll explore the “why” and “how” behind each movement: breath, rhythm, flow, and directionality.Partner Work and Verbal Cueing
Light introduction to teaching language—mostly to reinforce your own understanding.Homework or Self-Practice
Some instructors assign review tasks or encourage evening self-practice.
What You Learn
Spinal Motions: Arch, curl, spiral, side bend (the Gyrokinesis “Alphabet”).
Primary Sequences: Awakening of the Senses, Level 1 Seated Series, Floor Work, and Standing Series.
Breath Patterns: Coordinated breathing to support movement.
Movement Qualities: Undulating, wave-like, three-dimensional movement.
Energetic Awareness: Introduction to internal flow, intention, and expansion.
What It’s Not
It’s not yet a teacher training course—you won’t be certified to teach after this.
It’s not performance-based—this is about cultivating internal understanding rather than “getting it right.”
Expect to Experience
Physical shifts: Increased flexibility, spinal articulation, and coordination.
Mental focus: It’s a highly concentrated environment.
Emotional openness: The method often unlocks subtle emotional release.
Community: You’ll be with other serious practitioners or future teachers—often a very supportive group.
